Autoimmune Diseases

There are more than 80 types of autoimmune diseases, which involve the immune system attacking the body’s own cells, tissues, and internal organs as if they were enemies. They can affect joints, skin, digestive, respiratory, circulatory, vascular, nervous, and brain systems.

Attacks vary in severity from patient to patient, and are not contagious at all — they occur due to a dysfunction in white blood cells.

Top Ten Conditions

AIA stands out as the first public utility association in the UAE to adopt a fully virtual model based on smart automation and zero bureaucracy — harnessing AI and comprehensive digital transformation to serve autoimmune patients and their families, in line with the UAE Strategy for Artificial Intelligence 2031.

Logo Meaning

The logo reflects the name in both Arabic and English — Autoimmune Association — emphasizing the mission to support individuals with autoimmune conditions. The heart symbol represents a continuous pulse and the essence of life, while the letters “MM” woven through it subtly refer to the association’s name.

The turquoise blue color symbolizes tranquility, serenity, purity, sophistication, and the ability to convey trust, quality, and optimism — protection from negative energies, logical and positive thinking, and an optimistic outlook.
